This research aims to: (1) analyze the performance of the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) in preventing violations and resolving disputes in the 2019 General Election in South Sulawesi Province, (2) identify factors that influence such performance. Given the importance of supervision in maintaining the integrity of democracy, this research focuses on evaluating the implementation of coordination, monitoring, and evaluation functions carried out by the supervisory institution. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation at the South Sulawesi Provincial Bawaslu Office. The data analysis technique refers to an interactive model that includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research findings indicate that the performance of South Sulawesi Provincial Bawaslu in prevention and enforcement aspects has been conducted in accordance with regulations, reflected in intensive coordination efforts with relevant agencies and strict supervision of election stages to ensure an honest and orderly process. However, several inhibiting factors were found that affect performance optimization, namely: lack of cooperative attitudes from election participants, limited human resources (HR), operational budget constraints for field officers, and limited preparation time for implementation. It is concluded that although Bawaslu has adequately carried out its supervisory and preventive duties, future performance effectiveness requires increased active community participation, better HR management, and more proportional budget support and time allocation
